The short version
- All rights reserved. The Index, every score, the Charter and Rulebook, the MMI name, logo and seal belong to us.
- Quote with credit. You may quote a destination’s score or a short extract, with credit to the Mature Miles Index and a link to mmindex.info.
- Ask first. Copying the Index, building rankings from our scores or using our seal needs our written permission.
- Information, not advice. Scores are compiled from public sources on stated dates. Check conditions before you travel.
1. Who we are
This website, mmindex.info, and the Mature Miles Index (“MMI”, “we”, “us”) are owned and published by Allan Barnard, trading as the Mature Miles Index, Riebeek Kasteel, Western Cape, South Africa. By using this website you accept these terms.
2. Copyright
© 2026 Allan Barnard, trading as the Mature Miles Index. All rights reserved.
Copyright in the following belongs to us: the Index and every monthly edition of it; every destination score, pillar score and ranking; the MMI Charter and Rulebook, including the method, indicators, score bands and workbooks; the text, design and graphics of this website; the MMI name, logo and seal; and our certificates, window decals and web badges. Photos credited to others belong to their owners and are used under the licences shown.
3. What you may do
- Read, print and save pages for your own, non-commercial use.
- Share links to any page of this website.
- Quote a destination’s MMI score, its rank, or a short extract (up to 100 words) in news reporting, reviews, research or commentary, provided you credit “Source: Mature Miles Index, mmindex.info” and, online, link to the page you quote.
4. What needs our written permission
- Copying, republishing or redistributing the Index, a monthly edition, or a substantial part of our scores, Charter or Rulebook.
- Scraping or systematically downloading content from this website, or using it to train artificial-intelligence models.
- Using our scores, method or Rulebook to build, publish or sell another index, ranking, rating or certification.
- Altering our content, or presenting it in a way that changes its meaning.
- Any commercial use of our content.
- Using the MMI name, logo or seal in any way that suggests we certify, endorse or are connected with you.
To ask for permission, write to partners@mmindex.info.
5. The MMI seal, certificates, decals and badges
Only destinations we have certified and businesses we have admitted as Committed Partners may display the MMI seal, certificate, window decal or web badge, and only while their certificate or admission is valid. They must be used exactly as we supply them, without alteration. The right to use them ends when a certificate expires or is withdrawn, or when a business is removed from the Partner directory or placed on the MMI Grey List (see the Charter, §32). We will take action against anyone who uses them without permission. Where we find misuse, we will report it to the relevant platform and may publish the name of the organisation concerned. Every genuine seal and certificate can be checked on our verification page using its certificate number.
6. Scores are information, not advice
Every score is compiled from publicly available sources under the published rules of the MMI Charter, and states the dates its evidence was captured. Conditions change after capture: prices, timetables, access and official travel advice among them. Please check the latest information before you book or travel. Nothing on this website is medical, legal, financial or travel-insurance advice.
7. Our liability
We take great care with every score, but to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or from relying on its content. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Your personal information
How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
